Cotton jersey (Jersey) is a lightweight, soft and stretchy fabric that provides both comfort and durability.

With a composition of natural cotton and elastane, this fabric is especially pleasant to wear thanks to cotton’s breathable and gentle qualities, while elastane adds slight stretch for freedom of movement. It is ideal for everyday clothing, children’s wear and also sportswear.

Sewing tips:

When sewing with cotton jersey (Jersey), it is recommended to use Jersey or Stretch needles, which are specially made for stretchy fabrics. These needles have a rounded tip that allows them to glide easily between jersey fibers without damaging the fabric. Needle size usually depends on the fabric’s thickness, but common sizes suitable for cotton jersey are 70/10 or 80/12.
