SCHMETZ DPx5 SD1 industrial needles are designed for lockstitch sewing machines when sewing leather and other "difficult" materials. SD1 or "Round point with small triangular tip" is a special fine triangular cutting point that makes a smaller cut than typical cutting needles and provides a straight, neat stitch even when sewing in multiple directions (programmable sewing machines).
