Satin is a fabric woven in a satin weave with a glossy, smooth face and a matte reverse. The best qualities of this fabric are a pleasantly soft texture, an easy drape and simple care.
The subtle sheen makes the fabric more elegant and attractive, so it is most often used for sewing refined garments; it is therefore an excellent fabric for making dresses, skirts and corsets.
This fabric is ideal for tunics, blouses, fine shirts, vests, even lightweight garments and nightwear. Satin is also used for various interior decorations, such as curtains, chair covers, and tablecloths.
Does not contain elastane and therefore does not stretch.
